Nicolae Iorga was a historian, literary critic, playwriter, poet, minister,Prime Minister, professor and Romanian academician. It is known worldwide as art historian and philosopher of history.
He was co-founder of Democratic Party Nationalist Party in 1910, Member of Parliament, Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.
He had a prolific scientifical activitity, Iorga wrote 1003 books, 4963 reviews 12,755 articles and studies that culminated in Romanian history in ten volumes. He taught at the University of Bucharest, one in Paris and other academic and educational institutions founded International Congress of Byzantine Studies and the Institute for Southeast European Studies (ISSE).
He was an important figure in the pro-Antanta camp during World War I, thanks to the support case of Romanians in Austria-Hungary and had an important political role in Romania Mare in the interwar period. He initiated campaigns to defend Romanian culture. He sparked controversy due to anti-Semitic rhetoric. It was opponent of National Liberal Party of the Romanian National Party.
